And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. …And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. (Acts 2:42, 47)
What are Community Groups?
Community groups are made up of 12-24 men, women, and children who are devoted to community, discipleship, and mission together.
Groups meet together weekly to open the Bible and cultivate community, discipleship, and mission. They typically center around a shared meal and sermon discussion.
Groups are missional communities focused on serving and sharing the Gospel in a particular neighborhood or to a particular people group.
Groups are not formed around shared life stage or affinity, but around shared pursuit of Gospel community, discipleship, and mission. They are multi-generational for the sake of discipleship.
Groups are the frontlines of care for the people within their group (Prayer, meal train, benevolence, etc.).
Groups are centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and strive to live out the mission of Christ together.

Who Leads Community Groups?
Groups are led by qualified leaders who cast vision, facilitate discussion, cultivate a Gospel culture, and help every member of their group engage in community, discipleship, and mission through the group and in their everyday lives.
Community group leaders lead sermon discussions and Bible and book studies. They pray for and with the members of their group, lovingly confront sin with the truth, and provide the first line of soul care for the members of their group.
Who Should Join Community Groups?
Every member of Crossroads Church covenants to be involved in discipleship, community, and mission through Community Groups if in any way possible.
Any newcomer to Crossroads seeking to connect with the church will discover the heart and soul of the church in Community Groups.
Any unbeliever interested in Christianity or authentic community should discover a community that authenticates the Gospel in Community Groups.
Why Join Community Groups?
Our God is a perfect community of Father, Son, and Spirit. As image-bearers of God (Genesis 1:26-27), we were created for community. Apart from God, we will not achieve the community we long for, but through the Gospel Christ has bought a people for himself, and it is only in Christ that we can have true fellowship with God and one another (1 John 1:5-10). Community Groups provide a space for Gospel community together. Jesus commanded every follower of Jesus to make disciples. That includes sharing the Gospel of Jesus’ perfect life for our righteousness, sacrificial death for our sin, and physical resurrection for our new life in mission together, but also growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ together in discipleship through the sanctifying Word of God. Community Groups provide a space for mission and discipleship together.
What Do Community Groups Do That I Cannot Do Alone?
Open our Bibles together and encourage one another to believe and obey.
Confess our sins to one another (James 5:16)
Hold one another accountable (Galatians 6:1-2)
Bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2)
Fulfill the “one anothers” commanded of Christians. (Romans 12:10, Romans 15:7, Galatians 5:13, Galatians 6:2, Ephesians 4:32, 1 Thessalonians 4:18, James 5:16, 1 Peter 4:9, 1 Peter 5:5)
Pray for and with one another. (Colossians 1: 9-12)
Make passionate followers of Jesus Christ together in community (Acts 2: 42-47)
