Crossroads Kids
Our Purpose
At Crossroads, we love our children and love having them in the service with us. We believe children are a blessing from the Lord and welcome them in any service. We also seek to serve parents by providing an age appropriate worship/church experience for children of all ages. While we believe God has given parents the main responsibility of teaching and discipling their children, Crossroads Kids aims to come alongside those parents to help them discipline and teach their children creating a community and family of mentors for each child. Our goal is to aid you in raising your child to love and serve God!
We will not hide these truths from our children. We will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about His power and His mighty wonders. – Psalm 78:4
Our Plan
Crossroads Kids offers age-appropriate care and Bible teaching for birth to 2, 3 to 5, and 6 to 12.
Crossroads Kids is committed to providing children with gospel-centered teaching. We do this using the Gospel Project curriculum through Lifeway. Each lesson walks children through the Bible with a focus on how each story points to Christ. We want the children to know that the Bible reveals Christ and is not a self-help book. In addition to a weekly Bible story, we reinforce the themes from the lesson through a variety of activities, including crafts, songs, and games. We review memory verses, pray for global church-planting partners, and strive to know and care for each child.
Our desire for our preschoolers is that they begin learning about the Lord Jesus at an early age, which will provide them with a foundation for a personal relationship with Him later on. To accommodate this, we want to encourage all parents to know what their children are learning in our children’s services. We do this through providing a weekly take-home paper with activities that you can do with your child to reinforce Bible lesson concepts.
Health and Safety
Health and SafetyThe safety of your children is a top priority for Crossroads Church. Our children’s ministry volunteers are required to receive background checks to ensure the safety of your family. Volunteers also be clean toys and tables to prevent the spread of illnesses. When checking-in your child, you will give your name, your child’s name, and any special instructions to the volunteers. The volunteer teachers will be able to provide you with any information you need and answer any questions you have. They will then provide you with a numbered security card that matches you to your child. Please make sure you write down your cell phone number on the sign-in sheet and keep your phone on vibrate during the service in case we would need you to come and attend to your child. Parents are more than welcome to come to the children’s area and get their child adjusted to the new environment and then return to the sanctuary for the message. All children may be picked up in the children’s area at the conclusion of the main service. Please present the security card you were given in order to receive your child. Only the person holding your child’s matching security card number is allowed to pick-up your child – this process is taken very seriously out of concern for the safety of your children.
